Open Settings in the sidebar. Every setting is a key in config.json; editing the file and using Settings are equivalent. See Configuration file.

Launch at login

Starts Magnitude in the background with its tray icon when you log in. The window stays closed. On macOS, the first enable may ask you to allow Magnitude under System Settings → General → Login Items.

Model storage

Downloaded models are kept in ~/.magnitude/models, or %USERPROFILE%\.magnitude\models on Windows. Click Change… to choose another folder, or Use default to return to it. The new folder is used after Magnitude restarts; a Restart required notice appears until then. Changing the folder does not move models. Models in the previous folder stay there and are not listed until you move them. To move them, quit Magnitude, run the command shown in the notice, then open Magnitude again:
The folder must be on a volume that supports symbolic links and file permissions, such as APFS, ext4, or NTFS. exFAT and FAT32 volumes are not supported. If the folder is itself a symbolic link, Magnitude uses the folder it points to.

Network access

Off by default. When on, other devices can use Magnitude for inference. Nothing else is exposed: model management and the app stay on this computer. Changes apply after Magnitude restarts. For how to connect from another computer, a tailnet, a container, or WSL, see Other devices.

Automatic updates

Downloads updates in the background when they are available. Installing an update still requires Restart to update.
