Overview - Magnitude

Magnitude serves an HTTP API on port 10100 while it is running. Connections uses it to configure supported agents. Any other OpenAI-compatible or Anthropic-compatible client can use it directly.

Base URLs

Clients append their own paths, such as /chat/completions or /v1/messages. If a client asks for a full endpoint URL instead, use the paths in Endpoints. From another device, replace 127.0.0.1 with the address shown under Reachable at in Settings → Network access. See Other devices.

API keys

Caller	Key
This computer	None required. If the client insists on a value, any value works.
Other devices	The key from Settings → Network access, sent as `Authorization: Bearer KEY` or `x-api-key: KEY`.

Model IDs

List the models available for inference:

Use the exact id from the response as the model name in requests. Display names are not accepted. Magnitude loads the model on the first request, which takes longer than later requests.

Scope

The API provides inference only: listing models and generating text. Downloading models, managing them, and the Magnitude app itself are not available over the API. Opening http://127.0.0.1:10100 in a browser shows a short text summary of these paths.
