# Pi

> Connect Pi to your downloaded Magnitude models.

## Connect

1. [Install Pi](https://github.com/badlogic/pi-mono/tree/main/packages/coding-agent#quick-start) if needed.
2. Download a compatible model in Magnitude.
3. Open **Connections → Pi** and click **Connect**.
4. Open or restart Pi and choose your Magnitude model.

Use Pi’s `/model` selector to choose a model from the Magnitude provider. Normal Magnitude connections install the model configuration and skill; you do not need to install the Magnitude Pi extension.

## Select a model from the terminal

To configure the connection and select a specific downloaded model, first find its exact ID:

```sh theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
magnitude models status
magnitude connections add pi --set-model "MODEL_ID"
```

Replace `MODEL_ID` with the ID from the first command, not the friendly display name. Restart the agent after changing its configuration.

## Configuration

Default configuration files:

* `~/.pi/agent/models.json`

On Windows, `~` means your user profile directory.

Supported location overrides: `PI_CODING_AGENT_DIR`. The paths displayed in Connections show which files Magnitude is actually checking.

## Repair or disconnect

If Connections shows **Connection needs repair**, click **Repair connection**. To stop using the integration, click **Disconnect**, then restart the agent.

Terminal equivalents:

```sh theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
magnitude connections sync pi
magnitude connections remove pi
```

See [connection states](/integrations/overview#connection-states) if the agent is not detected or its configuration cannot be verified.
