# Other agents

> Use Magnitude from any OpenAI-compatible or Anthropic-compatible app or agent.

Magnitude runs an OpenAI-compatible API on this computer. **Connect** points supported agents at it, and any other app or agent that lets you set a custom base URL can use it too. The bottom of **Connections** shows the base URL and an example request. For an app or agent on another device, in a container, or inside WSL, see [Network access](/api/network-access).

## OpenAI-compatible apps

| Base URL | `http://127.0.0.1:10100/inference/v1` |
| API key | Any value. Magnitude does not check it on this computer. |
| Model | An exact ID from `/inference/v1/models` |

If the app asks for a full endpoint URL instead of a base URL, use `http://127.0.0.1:10100/inference/v1/chat/completions`.

## Anthropic-compatible apps

Use `http://127.0.0.1:10100/inference/anthropic` as the base URL. Requests must include `max_tokens`.

## Check the connection
