# OpenClaw

> Connect OpenClaw to your downloaded Magnitude models.

## Connect

1. [Install OpenClaw](https://docs.openclaw.ai/install) if needed.
2. Download a compatible model in Magnitude.
3. Open **Connections → OpenClaw** and click **Connect**.
4. Open or restart OpenClaw and choose your Magnitude model.

Restart your running OpenClaw instance after changing its connection, then select a Magnitude model. The configuration is persistent; connecting does not start OpenClaw for you.

## Select a model from the terminal

To configure the connection and select a specific downloaded model, first find its exact ID:

magnitude models status
magnitude connections add openclaw --set-model "MODEL_ID"
```

Replace `MODEL_ID` with the ID from the first command, not the friendly display name. Restart the agent after changing its configuration.

## Configuration

Default configuration files:

* `~/.openclaw/openclaw.json`

On Windows, `~` means your user profile directory.

Supported location overrides: `OPENCLAW_CONFIG_PATH`, `OPENCLAW_STATE_DIR`. The paths displayed in Connections show which files Magnitude is actually checking.

## Repair or disconnect

If Connections shows **Connection needs repair**, click **Repair connection**. To stop using the integration, click **Disconnect**, then restart the agent.

Terminal equivalents:

magnitude connections sync openclaw
magnitude connections remove openclaw
```
