# Cline

> Connect Cline to your downloaded Magnitude models.

## Connect

1. [Install Cline](https://docs.cline.bot/getting-started/installing-cline) if needed.
2. Download a compatible model in Magnitude.
3. Open **Connections → Cline** and click **Connect**.
4. Open or restart Cline and choose your Magnitude model.

This connector detects the `cline` executable and manages its provider configuration. Having only an editor extension installed does not necessarily make this CLI integration available. Magnitude configures the OpenAI-compatible provider.

## Select a model from the terminal

To configure the connection and select a specific downloaded model, first find its exact ID:

magnitude models status
magnitude connections add cline --set-model "MODEL_ID"
```

Replace `MODEL_ID` with the ID from the first command, not the friendly display name. Restart the agent after changing its configuration.

## Configuration

Default configuration files:

* `~/.cline/data/settings/providers.json`
* `~/.cline/data/settings/models.json`

On Windows, `~` means your user profile directory.

Supported location overrides: `CLINE_DATA_DIR`, `CLINE_PROVIDER_SETTINGS_PATH`. The paths displayed in Connections show which files Magnitude is actually checking.

## Repair or disconnect

If Connections shows **Connection needs repair**, click **Repair connection**. To stop using the integration, click **Disconnect**, then restart the agent.

Terminal equivalents:

magnitude connections remove cline
```
